An Economic Evaluation Plan for Integrating Food and Financial Health in Pediatric Primary Care
Stewardship & Sustainability: An Economic Evaluation Plan
Project Introduction:
Our Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Innovation & Resilience Program is dedicated to addressing the intricate relationship between food insecurity, family financial health and child health using the pediatric primary care practice as a hub to address medical and health-related social needs. In partnership with the MedStar Department of Community Pediatrics, The Georgetown Health Justice Alliance, and the MedStar Center for Health Equity Research, our Health Care Financing Initiative (HCFI) team is exploring innovative methods to measure program outcomes, and validate its real-world impact. We’re developing an economic Evaluation Approach to measure the cost effectiveness and return on investment of the program as a basis for long-term support and inclusion in the pediatric primary care setting. Our goal is to lay the groundwork for impactful, data-informed solutions that address these critical social factors affecting child health.
