Safe Babies & Safe Mom

Project Introduction:

The D.C. Safe Babies Safe Moms (SBSM) initiative, led by MedStar Health, is focused on improving perinatal outcomes for mothers and infants in Washington, D.C. With generous support from a five-year grant from the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation, SBSM is developing clinical interventions, strengthening support systems, and connecting families with essential community partners to support maternal and infant health at birth and beyond. Our team at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy is dedicated to evaluating the program’s effectiveness and identifying new opportunities for interventions that can further enhance care throughout the perinatal journey.
